Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik described the attention being given to Mohammed Siraj as a 'king-like treatment' after cameras pointed to the fast bowler receiving a foot massage from the team physiotherapist Kamlesh Jain while an ice bag was placed on his head. India require 58 runs on the final day of the Test to wrap up the series with a 2-0 win.

Day 4 was an exceptionally sultry one at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Siraj received medical attention following a six-over spell during the session post the Lunch interval. Karthik made a joking reference related to fellow commentator and former West Indian legend Ian Bishop, who apparently doesn't have any hair on his head.

"What we see right now, the fast bowlers being treated like kings after a hard spell. It's the same case everywhere, by the way. I just need to let viewers know that it's not just on the ground, off the field, but also in the com box. We've got to be careful when you do that with Bish (Ian Bishop, who was also present in the commentary box), though. The ice straight on the head to calm him down at times. For Bish [Bishop, his co-commentator] and for Siraj," stated Karthik while commentating.

Speaking of Siraj's figures, he ended up with 1/16 in nine overs and 2/43 in 15 overs in West Indies' first and second innings, respectively. The three wickets in the match also helped him climb the mountain of being the highest wicket-taker in 2025 already. It was a pitch where there was more help for spinners as compared to pacers. Kuldeep Yadav picked up eight wickets.

Siraj starred for India in the first Test with his match tally seven wickets as the Shubman Gill-led side romped through to a massive innings win by 140 runs. Ravindra Jadeja had secured the Player of the Match accolade for his all-round outing (104* and 4/54) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for the opening encounter.
