Team India are all set to cross swords with Jos Buttler’s England in the forthcoming semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to end the 15-year wait to clinch the coveted title down under this edition.
With four of the most competitive sides up against one another, fans and members of the cricketing fraternity have begun speculating on who could possibly make it to the finals. Former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers has tipped team India to not just play the finals but also win the title.
“I think India will play New Zealand in the final and I think India will win. Everyone is playing well, Suryakumar looks in good form, Virat looks in good form. Rohit has not had his best of runs but he will come to the party when it matters most, he is a fantastic player,” AB de Villiers was quoted by Republicworld.
“The whole team of India is very talented. So, I am looking forward for them to have a great game against England, which is the biggest test in my opinion. I believe if they win the semi-finals, they will go onto lift the trophy,” he added.
Both India and England have been phenomenal in their run in the Super 12 stage of the World Cup thus far. While the Rohit Sharma-led side looks more lethal with the bat at this stage considering the strong performances coming from certain players in the side, the English bowlers are no less. Undoubtedly, the fixture will be a mouth-watering contest between two terrific sides.
