In a recent development in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, the 46th match of the tournament, originally scheduled to be held on May 4, between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has been rescheduled to accommodate the Lucknow Municipal Corporation elections.
Owing to the requirement of the state machinery to be indulged in ensuring the smooth conduction of the elections, the IPL management has decided to prepone the game to Wednesday, May 3 where it will be played in the afternoon slot. Notably, the match was originally supposed to be played in the 3:30 PM IST slot as well.
The capital city of Lucknow would see the electoral polls for the urban governing council being conducted in two phases on May 4 and 11, respectively, where the voters would choose their representatives for 17 municipal corporations, 199 municipal councils and 439 nagar panchayats. The results for the same would be declared on May 13.
Lucknow Super Giants to face Rajasthan Royals on April 19
Enjoying their successful run so far in the tournament, Lucknow Super Giants would look to add more to it when they travel to Jaipur to take on the table-toppers Rajasthan Royals on April 19.
LSG would be entering the contest on the back of a close defeat sustained against Punjab Kings in their last clash. However, the silver lining for the team in that match was the attainment of form by their celebrated slipper KL Rahul. Rahul scored a blissful 74 runs in just 56 deliveries which included eight fours and one six.
After five games, LSG stand second on the points table with 6 points, accumulated over 3 wins. RR, on the other hand, have won four out of their five matches to lead the points table.
