Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu praised Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings for putting on a good performance in the 52nd match of the IPL 2025. The six-time IPL winner claimed CSK delivered their best performance of the season.

While Rayudu felt CSK were unfortunate to lose the game, he credited RCB for their great batting performance.

"I think RCB have played fantastically well, and CSK also played a very good game of cricket. In my opinion, this is the best cricket they have played in the entire season. It's slightly unfortunate that they lost this game, but RCB were definitely ahead, especially while batting," Rayudu said on JioStar after the arch-rivalry match.

Rayudu praised Yash Dayal for bowling well in the last over of the match. He felt Dayal's belief in himself highlighted the nature of a team wanting to win the title. Rayudu felt delivering such a performance against the arch-rivals would give an individual a lot of confidence and make one feel better.

"That finish towards the end, and also the final over delivered by Yash Dayal, was phenomenal. That's the kind of belief you want in your dugout when you're aiming to win a championship, to win the IPL. And it feels all the better, and gives you a lot of confidence, especially when you achieve it against your arch-rivals," Rayudu added.

RCB beat CSK both at home and away for the first time in an IPL season

For the first time in the history of the IPL, RCB defeated CSK in both matches of a season. Earlier this season, RCB registered their first win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai since 2008. They did it in some style by claiming a huge win by 50 runs.

The match in Bengaluru was instead a thriller, as the three-time finalists beat the five-time champions by just two runs. It marked RCB's first instance of beating CSK in both home and away matches of a single edition of the IPL. With the win, RCB strengthened their spot at the top of the table.
