Former Australia legend Adam Gilchrist gave a huge compliment to Jasprit Bumrah after his spell against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 50th match of the IPL 2025. The former wicketkeeper-batter argued that Bumrah is the greatest fast bowler of all time. He felt the right-arm pacer ranks among cricket’s legends in terms of skill execution.

The former IPL-winning captain claimed that Bumrah could be considered an equivalent to Sir Donald Bradman when comparing their numbers with those of their peers. The former IPL star felt Bumrah is simply too far ahead of everyone in his era, just as Bradman was in his time.

"He's maybe the best bowler, fast bowler of all time. When you start stacking up the statistics and the varying conditions that he has to go out and execute those skills in, I guess you look at Sir Donald Bradman's numbers compared to his peers, and he's just so far ahead," Gilchrist was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz after the match between MI and RR.

The former Australian skipper added that Bumrah is one of a kind, capable of performing well in all types of conditions and on any surface. He concluded by saying that the right-arm pacer is far ahead of others in his time, and watching him bowl is a delight, even for opposition supporters.

"So I think Bumrah is sort of in that category across all the different variations that you get in conditions and pitches that you've got to bowl on. He's significantly further ahead than the peers around him, so that tells you we are truly watching greatness," Gilchrist added on the show.

The MI pacer bowled a brilliant spell in the match against RR. In his four overs, the star pacer claimed two wickets and conceded just 15 runs, including 15 dot balls. Bumrah picked up back-to-back wickets and nearly sealed the game for MI after Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar inflicted the early damage with the new ball.
