IPL 2025 Memes: Hilarious Reactions from RCB vs PBKS, Final at Narendra Modi Stadium
RCB won their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy after 18 years.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their long-standing trophy drought by clinching their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title. They defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in a thrilling IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3 to accomplish this historic achievement.
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB opened with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, with Salt providing an explosive start before falling to Kyle Jamieson by a stunning catch from Iyer.
Mayank Agarwal (24) and captain Rajat Patidar (26) looked promising for Bengaluru but could not convert their starts into big scores. Kohli held the innings together with a composed 43 before being dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai. Some late contributions from Liam Livingstone (25) and Jitesh Sharma (24) pushed RCB to a modest total of 190 runs.
PBKS bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Arshdeep Singh (3/40) and Kyle Jamieson (3/48) leading the attack and keeping the opposition batters in check.
In response, PBKS openers Priyansh Arya (24) and Prabhsimran Singh (26) got off to a steady start, but their dismissals in quick succession shifted the momentum. Romario Shepherd’s crucial breakthrough to remove skipper Iyer turned the tide in RCB’s favour. Josh Inglis played a quick-fire knock of 39 off 23 balls, but it was not enough for PBKS.
RCB’s bowling unit stepped up under pressure and struck regularly to slow down the chase. Krunal Pandya was exceptional and returned with the figures of 2 for 17 in his four overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also delivered a game-changing over, picking up two wickets in an over. For PBKS, Shashank Singh provided a valiant unbeaten 61 off just 30 balls, but PBKS fell short of the target.
Under the leadership of Patidar, RCB sealed a six-run win and lifted their first-ever IPL trophy, ending an 18-year wait and giving their fans a night to remember.
