IPL 2025: RCB-SRH game moved to Lucknow due to adverse weather conditions in Bengaluru
The game is scheduled to be played on Friday, May 23.
Match 65 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad has been shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow. There will be no change to the timing of the fixture. It will be played on Friday, May 23, at 7:30 pm (IST).
The last-minute change was prompted by a yellow alert issued by the Bengaluru meteorological department, forecasting "heavy to very heavy rainfall" through Thursday, May 22. This means that RCB will play their final couple of league games at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium (May 23 against SRH and May 27 against LSG).
Mullanpur, Ahmedabad to host playoffs
In another significant update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has finalised Mullanpur and Ahmedabad as the two venues for the playoffs of IPL 2025. Qualifier 1 (May 29) and the Eliminator (May 30) will be played at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium. The Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium will play host to Qualifier 2 (June 1) and the final (June 3).
According to the original schedule prior to the temporary suspension of the tournament, Hyderabad and Kolkata were the two venues set to host the four playoff matches. As of May 20, Gujarat Titans, RCB, and Punjab Kings have gained sure-shot entry into the playoffs. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will battle it out for the fourth slot.
