IPL 2026: Glenn Phillips extraordinary athleticism in DC clash leaves fans amazed
GT scored 210/4 against DC.
Gujarat Titans all-rounder Glenn Phillips nearly pulled off a spectacular catch near the boundary ropes during their clash against the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2026 on April 8 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted an imposing total of 210/4 in their 20 overs. GT right-arm pacer Ashok Sharma bowled to KL Rahul delivered a short-of-a-good-length ball just outside off. Rahul backed away and attempted to steer it over backward point.
Phillips reacted brilliantly, covering significant ground with a sprint before diving forward in an attempt to complete the catch. However, the ball bounced just in front of him and ricocheted off his trousers before rolling into the boundary. Had he managed to hold on, it would have been one of the most remarkable catches of the tournament.
Earlier in the innings, Shubman Gill led from the front with a composed 70 off 45 balls, including four boundaries and five sixes. Jos Buttler provided a quick-fire 52 off 27 deliveries, while Washington Sundar contributed a valuable 55 off 32 balls, helping GT reach a formidable total.
For Delhi Capitals, Mukesh Kumar was among the wicket-takers, finishing with figures of 2/55 in his four overs.
