The former Indian all-rounder, Harsha Bhogle, announced the moments on his YouTube channel.
Former India all-rounder and commentator Irfan Pathan recently revealed his top five cricketing moments of 2025, reflecting on performances across formats. In his video, Pathan picked moments involving players, all of which, according to him, showcased the strength of Indian cricket. Pathan emphasised that his list was not about numbers alone but about moments that changed matches, series, and careers.
At No. 5, Pathan placed Indian skipper Shubman Gill’s extraordinary performance at Edgbaston during India’s Test tour of England. Leading a young team under immense pressure after losing earlier in the series, Gill batted at No. 4 and produced a double century, followed by a century in the same match. The former described it as a “stamp of authority” moment, praising Gill for handling captaincy pressure, a new batting position, and the toughest touring conditions, while scripting India’s first-ever win at the venue.
Fourth place was shared by two players in different formats. Pathan lauded Tilak Varma’s knock in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan, where India were under pressure after losing quick wickets. Tilak, playing under pressure, guided India to the title and remained unbeaten till the end.

Alongside him was Jemimah Rodrigues for her match-winning effort in the Women’s ODI World Cup semi-final against Australia. Having faced criticism previously, Rodrigues held her nerve against a strong Australian team. Her ton took India over the line, with the hosts eventually winning the title for the first time in history.
Pathan's list witnessed Rohit Sharma featuring at No. 3 for his leadership and batting across major tournaments. He stated Rohit’s Champions Trophy-winning captaincy, his Man of the Match performance in the final, and his approach in the Australia white-ball tour.
At No. 2 was Virat Kohli, whose back-to-back centuries against South Africa stood out. Pathan praised Kohli’s ability to answer form-related questions with the bat, noting his adaptability, fitness at 37, and game awareness. According to him, Kohli once again proved why he remains irreplaceable in one-day cricket.
