The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. The venue is also hosting the Qualifier 2 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, June 1.

The playoffs were scheduled to be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata. However, BCCI shifted the matches to Mullanpur and Ahmedabad. While Mullanpur hosted Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, Ahmedabad is hosting the last two games of the 18th edition of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already made it to the summit clash after beating PBKS in Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, MI beat Gujarat Titans to make it to Qualifier 2.

The start of the Qualifier 2 clash in Ahmedabad was delayed due to rain. However, there is no reserve day for this clash. If the match gets abandoned, PBKS will progress to the finals to meet RCB as they finished at the top of the table at the end of the league phase, while MI were stationed at No. 4. That said, the drainage system at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is quite effective.

Will the IPL 2025 final have a reserve day?

Like the past few seasons, the IPL 2025 final will have a reserve day. Interestingly, the IPL 2023 final was completed on the reserve day, and incidentally the venue was the Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat Titans lost to Chennai Super Kings in that game that spanned a couple of days.

Meanwhile, the game finally commenced after over two hours of delay. The provision of 120 minutes before losing overs meant that the game's length remained unaffected. MI would be desperate to get back on the field. Earlier, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first before the rain delay.
