Ishan Kishan joins RBI as assistant manager during international break; pictures from Patna office go viral

India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has grabbed attention off the field after pictures of him performing his duties as an Assistant Manager at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) surfaced on social media. The viral images show the 28-year-old at the RBI's regional office in Patna, where he recently reported for work during the ongoing break from international cricket.

Kishan secured the government job under the sports quota and has now formally joined the RBI. During his visit to the Patna office, several bank employees were seen posing for photographs with the cricketer, with the pictures quickly making the rounds on social media. Fans praised the left-handed batter for balancing his professional responsibilities alongside his cricketing career.

As an Assistant Manager at the RBI, Kishan is reportedly expected to earn a monthly salary between 1.22 lakh INR and 1.24 lakh INR. After deductions, including provident fund and other contributions, his in-hand salary is estimated at 1.08 lakh to 1.12 lakh INR per month.

The Jharkhand cricketer has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in recent months. After falling out of the national setup, Kishan forced his way back into contention through consistent performances in domestic cricket. He eventually earned a surprise recall to the Indian squad and, despite initially not being in the plans for the T20 World Cup 2026, made the final squad and played an important role in India's title-winning campaign.

Kishan carried that momentum into the IPL, where he continued to impress with the bat. Although he endured relatively quiet outings during the tours of Ireland and England, he bounced back with productive performances in the Zimbabwe series, further cementing his place in India's white-ball setup.

With India currently engaged in a Test series, Kishan has a brief window away from international cricket. He is set to return to action in October, when India take on the West Indies in a T20I series.

Before that, the wicketkeeper-batter will lead the East Zone in the upcoming Duleep Trophy, which begins on August 23. The East Zone side will open its campaign against North Zone, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi named as the vice-captain.
