22-year-old England bowler Lauren Bell is optimistic about making her mark in the upcoming Women's Ashes and is looking to help England regain The Ashes which is scheduled to be played this summer. The England pacer has recorded some useful contributions for Southern Vipers lately. Bell has been rated highly in the domestic circuit for the invaluable efforts with the ball that she has made throughout her short career.
The Southern Vipers bowler made her mark in the year 2019 when she found some intimidating swing and good bounce when Vipers were playing Loughborough Lightning in the semi-final of the Kia Super League which was eventually sealed by her side to qualify for the finals.
A recent article published on Newbury Today revealed that the 22-year-old seamer was focusing just on playing well for her current domestic side. She also knew that a good and solid start to the English cricketing summer could very well see her lining up for the Ashes which is scheduled to be played later in the month of June. Bell has also played one Test match for England in which she managed to pick up 2 wickets. It’s still early days for Bell in international cricket but she has shown glimpses of a better future ahead if given the right opportunity in the longer format of the game.
"Obviously when I'm playing for the Vipers, I'm fully focused on them.
But Lewy (Jon Lewis) has sent us away with things to work on to prepare for the Aussies, and we play a similar brand of cricket to England," Bell was quoted as saying by Newbury Today.
"It works hand in hand, if I can play well for the Vipers then hopefully I can get in the England team and play well for them," she further added, hinting at her roadmap to break into the national squad.
