Former India women's pacer Jhulan Goswami has expressed her dissatisfaction with the food of The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai and raised her concern about the same while taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter.
During her playing days, Jhulan was known for her speed combined with agility as a pacer and her ability to dismantle batters with sheer venom and the same can be seen in the way she has called out the hotel.
The former veteran India pacer tagged the hotel on Twitter and mentioned, "Disappointed with @TajMahalMumbai's food quality - served poorly thrice even after addressing it to the staff multiple times. Expected better from such a renowned establishment. Management needs to step up and address this issue immediately."
Jhulan enjoying coaching stint post-retirement
The inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) saw Mumbai Indians rope in Jhulan as their bowling coach & mentor and it worked wonders for them. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals in the summit clash of the WPL on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26 by seven wickets.
Jhulan's stint with the side in the first season was highly fruitful for the MI bowlers as two MI players featured in the top three of the list of leading wicket-takers in the inaugural season. It was all-rounder Hayley Matthews who bagged a total of 16 scalps in ten innings at an average of 12.62 and finished the season as the joint-leading wicket-taker alongside UP Warriorz's Sophie Ecclestone.
The third spot was grabbed by fast bowling all-rounder Issy Wong, who bagged a total of 15 wickets in ten innings at an average of 14. Alongside Jhulan, MI's coaching staff included the likes of Charlotte Edwards (Head Coach), Lydia Greenway (fielding coach), Devieka Palshikaar (batting coach).
