Retired Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee has revealed that he is excited to play alongside former adversaries at Legends League Cricket 2022. The ace bowler has joined Manipal Tigers who feature captain Harbhajan Singh alongside legendary players like Muttiah Muralidaran and Mohammad Kaif in their squad.

The 45-year-old pacer recently featured for Australia Legends in the Road Safety World Series 2022 tournament. Australia were beaten by India Legends in the semi-final clash by five wickets after finishing group stages with three wins in five matches. Lee took one wicket in each of the first three matches but failed to make an impact in the semi-final clash against India where he conceded 19 runs in 20 balls without a wicket.

I am looking for a duel with my old teammate Mitchell Johnson: Brett Lee

Manipal Tigers are struggling for wins in this year's edition of the tournament. They are reeling at the bottom of the league table with just one win in five matches. Lee's inclusion will definitely boost their underperforming bowling line-up for the remainder of the matches.

“It has been a great experience playing the Legends League. The phase 1 in Oman was a great one and I am glad that I am back for season 2. After checking in, I had a nice interaction with Christopher Gayle. Playing with former opposition players and guys who were in opposition but teammates as well, one tourney I am looking forward to,” Lee said on Saturday.

But apart from the results, Lee is also excited to play alongside Harbhajan Singh and stated that it would be a fun event. He also added that he is looking forward to facing his former bowling partner Mitchell Johnson, who is having a good season with India Capitals so far.

“In this edition, I am looking for a duel with my old teammate Mitchell Johnson as we haven’t played a lot against each other. Also, it would be fun to play alongside Harbhajan Singh,” Lee added.
