Punjab Kings (PBKS) have played some exemplary cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They are the only unbeaten team in the competition, having won six out of their seven matches. Punjab Kings' co-owner Preity Zinta has been in attendance in almost every game that the Shreyas Iyer-led side has played. She must be on cloud nine after watching the performance of her team since the start of last season.

On Monday, April 27, the Bollywood actress started an impromptu Q&A session on her official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle. Yuzvendra Chahal, who is an integral member of the Punjab Kings' side, made a surprise visit in the session, enquiring whether he could get a chance to open the batting in one game.

"Mam ek match mein open batting karne ka chance mil jaaye toh (Ma'am, if I could open the batting in one game)," Chahal wrote.

Chahal has picked up four wickets in seven matches so far in IPL 2026. The leading wicket-taker in the cash-rich league's history is averaging a dismal 51.25 with the ball and his economy rate of 9.76 is quite high too. However, as the tournament trickles towards the business end, Chahal's performances are going to be crucial for the Kings.

Punjab must be beaming with pride after breaking their own record for the highest successful run chase in T20 cricket. They achieved this feat in the last game against the Delhi Capitals, hunting down a 265-run target with five wickets and seven balls to spare at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
