Mumbai Indians Women’s WPL 2027 retention list: Full list of retained players

The two-time champions of the Women's Premier League, Mumbai Indians Women (MI W), have named their list of the retained as well as the released players ahead of the auction for the WPL 2027. The auction will be staged in Kochi on October 28. The upcoming edition of the premier tournament, meanwhile, will be played from 14 January to 7 February 2027.

The Mumbai-based franchise has retained their core, with Harmanpreet Kaur stamping her spot as one of the top draws. Amanjot Kaur, Nicola Carey, Melie Kerr and Hayley Matthews are among the other marquee names retained by the side, while six players have been released. Release doesn't specifically signify the end of the journey between the players and the franchise, as the team will have the option to pick them up in the auction event.

MI have also kept the likes of Nat Sciver-Brunt and Shabnim Ismail, the senior veterans of the game, in their line-up ahead of the league's fifth season. Among the youngsters retained are Sajana Sajeevan, Vaishnavi Sharma, Rahila Firdaus, and Sanskriti Gupta. 

Among those released, Gunalan Kamalini has emerged as a big name, while Milly Illingworth and Saika Ishaque will also be expecting takers at the auction table in Kochi.
