Ace USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar will be re-entering the international arena with the ODI leg of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 2023/24-2027 cycle of the Namibia tour. Netravalkar missed USA's recent series against the Netherlands due to parenting duties. The 33-year-old software engineeer-cum-cricketer will look to augment his wicket-taking tally during the ODIs, the dates of which have not been released yet. He will only feature in the ODI leg of the league, with the management granting him leave for the T20I segment.

Netravalkar's absence means an exciting left-arm seamer Ayan Desai has been integrated into USA's T20I lineup. In the sole game he featured in during the Major League Cricket 2024 for the Seattle Orcas, Desai looked sharp and dismissed Devon Conway, for a golden duck, and Marcus Stoinis too.

Meanwhile, vice-captain Aaron Jones has opted out of the Namibia tour to represent St Lucia Kings at the ongoing CPL, as stated by Cricbuzz. Andries Gous, though, has opted for the international commitment and will be in line for his 50-over international debut.

Ex-skipper Steven Taylor has been ruled out of the tour due to an injury. Having failed to breach 30 in his last nine ODIs, Taylor would have hoped to break the rut on the Namibia tour, but it was not meant to be. Wicketkeeper-batter Smit Patel made his way into the T20I setup for a maiden call-up after impressing with majestic knocks in the ODIs against Canada recently.

After an extremely underwhelming campaign with the Texas Super Kings in MLC 2024, a couple of impressive knocks in the tour to the Netherlands saw Milind Kumar make his way back into the ODI and T20I squads. Skipper, Monank Patel, who has had a hot-and-cold Netherlands tour, would look to lead from the front this time around.
