Delhi Capitals have failed to make a mark in any of the three games they have played in the ongoing IPL 2023. The David Warner-led side, in their last match, was hammered at the hands of Rajasthan Royals and that didn’t go well with co-owner Parth Jindal. After their 57-year-run loss, Jindal made an explosive remark, calling out the batters for not showing enough intent in the middle.

However, the 32-year-old backed his team and stated that he has belief in this group of cricketers to turn things around. Nevertheless, he wants the Capitals to take more responsibility as he believes that the execution part is lagging in some areas.

“3 games, 3 losses - very tough to see this @DelhiCapitals - not enough intent with the bat and execution lacking in some areas in the field - we have the belief in this bunch - let’s regroup and start fresh from Tuesday - I believe in this team. Come on Delhi!” Jindal tweeted on April 9, after Delhi lost their game on Saturday, April 8.

We need to work it out: Warner

Meanwhile, after the completion of the match, skipper Warner stated that in order to score 200 runs the team needed a better start but with two back-to-back wickets, the momentum got derailed and Delhi lost the match by a significant margin.

“When you are chasing 200, you need to start well. Can't take the credit away from Trent Boult. He was really good. It is just about executing your skills. We had a couple of chop ons last evening. We are professionals. We need to work it out. It is frustrating to hit to the fielders. One of our strike bowlers went down as well. Just didn't go to plan,” Warner said after the game.

Virender Sehwag was heavily disappointed with David Warner’s innings. He questioned the southpaw over his strike rate and asked him to play an aggressive brand of cricket like Yashasvi Jaiswal.

“I feel it is time that we tell him in English now so that Warner listens to it and feels hurt. David, if you are listening, please play well. Score 50 in 25 balls. Learn from Jaiswal, he hit in 25 balls. If you cannot do that, do not come and play in the IPL,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
