India (IND) and Sri Lanka (SL) will lock horns in the 33rd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World cup 2023 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The table-toppers will look to extend their unbeaten run when they play the Kusal Mendis-led side in what will be the rematch of the 2011 World Cup final, which India won by six wickets at the same venue.

Rohit Sharma and Co. were in tip-top condition, having won all the six games they have played so far in the ten-team competition. Interestingly, the two-time champions are the only unbeaten side in the tournament. The Men in Blue’s last win came against defending champions England at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Sri Lanka, on the other side, are coming off a seven-wicket defeat over the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan in Pune. The 1996 champions are currently sitting seventh in the ODI World Cup points table with two wins from six games. They need to win all the remaining matches to finish in the top four after the business end of the competition.
