India look to continue winning run
Before India’s game against Afghanistan, team India got off to a brilliant start to the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. The side took on the Pat Cummins-led Australia in their first game of the competition. Both sides faced each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
After putting in a brilliant performance with the ball and bundling out the Aussies for 199 runs, India got off to a shaky start to the run chase as the top order collapsed. However, through resilient innings by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who scored 85 and 97* runs, respectively, the hosts came away as the victors in the game.
Taking on Afghanistan, the side will once again look to depend on the services of star players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to help them pull through and register their second win of the tournament in their second game.
