Pakistan announce squad for 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, feature five players making their T20 WC debut

Pakistan Women’s have announced their squad for the upcoming 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup set to be played in England, starting from 12 June. The Women in Green play their opening game of the tournament against arch-rivals India at Edgbaston on June 14. 

Pakistan are once again led by the in-form Fatima Sana. The all-rounder recently registered the fastest women’s T20I fifty against Zimbabwe in Karachi, after reaching her half-century in just 15 balls. She will be partnered alongside other experienced players in the form of Muneeba Ali and batter Ayesha Zafar. 

Amongst all the experienced players, Pakistan will also bring in as many as five players who will feature in a T20 World Cup for the first time in their respective careers. These include Eyman Fatima, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab.

Ahead of the showpiece format, the Pakistan squad will compete in a tri-series alongside West Indies and Ireland towards the end of May as perfect preparation for the T20 World Cup, with Ireland and England having very similar conditions. 

The Women in Green will want to have a much better performance at this year’s tournament compared to 2024, when they finished fourth in the group after losing three out of their four matches. Despite taking part in every T20 World Cup, Pakistan have never gotten out of the group stage and qualified for the knockouts. To advance to the latter stages of the tournament, teams need to finish inside the top two in their respective groups.
