Pakistan vs New Zealand ODI Series 2023: Full Squads, schedule, Where to Watch on TV, online, live streaming details and All you need to know

After a high-octane Test series, the action shifts towards the One Day Internationals as Pakistan and New Zealand lock horns in the three-match series starting January 9. All the ODI games are scheduled to be played at the National Bank Arena in Karachi. The upcoming ODI series is a part of the ICC 2023 World Cup Super League cycle with 10 points at stake for each match. However, it does not matter as both teams have already qualified for 2023 ODI World Cup in India.

Pakistan will be looking to bank on their home advantage as they have showcased some clinical performances in the year gone by. They will be led by Babar Azam, the top-ranked ODI batter since July 2021. Babar would be eager to continue his purple patch in the 50-over format. 

Middle-order batter Shan Masood will be Babar’s deputy while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan comes back to don the gloves. Meanwhile, spin bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan and pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi have been excluded due to injury concerns. 

New Zealand, on the other hand, will be looking at this One Day series as a preparation for the 2023 World Cup. Further, they will be touring India later this month where they are scheduled to play three ODIs and thus, the Kiwis have a task at hand on the tough subcontinent wickets. 

The BlackCaps will be led by Kane Williamson. However, the visitors will need to address their woes in the bowling department. Blair Tickner was called as a late replacement for pacer Adam Milne who is down with a tight hamstring. To make matters worse, seasoned fast bowler Matt Henry has been ruled out due to an abdominal strain.
