Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has shared why there is no major need for concern for India even if Abhishek Sharma gets dismissed for a low score in the final of Asia Cup 2025. Abhishek has struck at a stunning 204.63 and has been in explosive form in the continental tournament so far.

Gavaskar listed out the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill, amongst others, and how they can be expected to light up the scene in Dubai during the summit clash against Pakistan on Sunday, September 28. The renowned cricketer-turned-commentator also highlighted that he will not be surprised if Abhishek proceeds to register a century against his name after missing out on one earlier in the tournament.

"There are several key players who can make a difference. Suryakumar Yadav is due for runs, as are Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya. Shubman Gill has batted well but hasn’t yet delivered the big scores we’ve come to expect from him recently. There’s plenty of batting firepower left, so there’s no need to be overly concerned," stated Gavaskar, as quoted by India Today.

"Abhishek Sharma, in particular, won’t let opportunities slip by. He’s been in good form with three half-centuries and, despite an unfortunate run-out that cost him a potential century (Super Four clash against Bangladesh), he’s likely to aim for another big innings—possibly even a three-figure score," he added.

The Men in Blue are scheduled to take on Pakistan in the summit clash at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This will be the third time the arch-rivals will square off against each other in this tournament. The Men in Blue reigned supreme on both occasions; a seven-wicket win in the group-stage and six-wicket win in the Super Four phase.

The upcoming contest will be the first-ever time that they will face each other in the final of the Asia Cup. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side have not lost a single match this tournament. They have won all six of their fixtures up until now.
