Prithvi Shaw, fiancée Akriti Agarwal unfollow each other; Akriti pens cryptic post on cheating
Prithvi Shaw & Akriti Agarwal both engaged in March 2026.
Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has found himself at the centre of speculation after reports of trouble in his relationship with fiancée Akriti Agarwal surfaced on social media. Akriti recently shared an Instagram Story that appeared to suggest she had been cheated on, writing that ‘everything is true’.
However, she did not explicitly name Shaw in the post. Soon after, she reportedly deleted all photos from their engagement and unfollowed Shaw across her social media accounts, further fuelling breakup rumours. As of now, neither Shaw nor Akriti has publicly confirmed their separation or addressed the speculation surrounding the alleged infidelity.
“I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can’t believe that after taking one step ahead… Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him,” wrote Akriti on her Instagram story.

Prithvi Shaw got engaged just before the 2026 Indian Premier League season after being picked by Delhi Capitals at the auction. However, he did not feature in a single match during the campaign. Once regarded as one of India's brightest batting prospects, Shaw's career has been derailed by a combination of injuries, inconsistent form, and off-field controversies, preventing him from fulfilling the immense expectations placed on him.
Shaw first grabbed national attention as a teenage prodigy. In 2016, he was part of the India Under-19 squad that won the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, further cementing his reputation as a future star. His rise continued when he became the youngest cricketer to score a century on his Duleep Trophy debut, surpassing the record previously held by Sachin Tendulkar. He later led India to victory at the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup before making an immediate impact at the senior level.
Following a dip in form during the IPL, Shaw earned an opportunity in the Indian Test side and impressed then head coach Ricky Ponting with his fearless approach against the new ball. In his brief international career, Shaw has represented India in five Tests, scoring 339 runs, while also featuring in six One-Day Internationals. Despite his undeniable talent, he is still searching for a consistent path back to the highest level.
