The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta Azfar Mahesar presided over a meeting regarding security arrangements at the exhibition match ahead of Pakistan Super League 2023. The match is scheduled to be played on February 5 at Quetta's Nawab Akbar Bugti stadium.

Mahesar briefed that no one will be allowed to enter the stadium without a ticket and the gate number written on it, while it has also be laid down that no one would be allowed to carry water bottles and/or any national or political flag other than Pakistan’s.

“Foolproof security will be provided for the cricket match so that locals could enjoy the game,” said the DIG as quoted by the Tribune. “No vehicle will be allowed to enter the stadium without a sticker. It is a positive step that the PSL match will be held in Quetta, bringing the much-needed entertainment to the city."

The DIG also advised the locals to cooperate with security personnel. Meanwhile, the ticket buyers have complained about the difficulties in obtaining match tickets and long queues were witnessed outside the stadium.
