Pakistan Super League (PSL) has signed a historic PKR 26.11 billion (approx USD 93 million) broadcast deal with Walee Technologies for a period of four years. As part of it, Walee will have the broadcasting and live streaming rights from 2026 to 2029.

The substantial rise in the rights value is down to the league’s expansion with the addition of two new franchises, which has also led to an increase in the number of matches: from 34 to 44. Taking into account even the increased number of fixtures, the per-game value in the league has increased from PKR 122 million until last year to PKR 148 million, a 21% improvement.

The higher value aligns with the massive increase in the valuation of three new franchises that went up for auction on January 8 in Islamabad. Multan Sultans (renamed to Pindi) went for an unprecedented PKR 2.45 billion per year for a ten-year period, making PSL “one of the most sought-after T20 properties”.

"This will be the biggest broadcast deal in the history of not only the PSL but also Pakistan cricket. The steep rise in valuation of PSL's commercial assets reflect the remarkable growth and credibility of PSL as a world-class league. We are delighted that all past records and valuations have been surpassed in this four-year term from 2026 to 2029,” Salman Naseer, the PSL CEO, was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

"The strategic alignment of both TV and live-streaming rights in the Pakistan region ensures that our fans can continue to enjoy the PSL experience across multiple platforms with added enhancements and innovations that will be developed and launched periodically."

The 2026 edition of the league will run from March 26 to May 3 and will clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to be played from March 28 to May 31. The upcoming PSL edition will be the longest one in terms of duration, owing to the increase in the number of fixtures.
