India's young leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, now tops the ICC T20 International bowler rankings, overtaking Rashid Khan after a standout performance in the series against Australia. Bishnoi's rating of 699 surpasses Rashid Khan's 692, marking a significant ascent in his career.

This remarkable achievement not only highlights Bishnoi's exceptional talent but also signifies a shift in the dynamics of T20 cricket where newcomers like Bishnoi are bossing the game.

The T20 International bowler rankings also showcase the emergence of new talents like Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, emphasizing the real potential of spinners and the competitiveness in T20 cricket around the world.

Bishnoi's ascent to the top spot is supported by his stellar performance in a recent bilateral T20I home series, where he equalled Ravichandran Ashwin's record for the most wickets taken by an Indian player. The 21-year-old spinner's crucial two-wicket haul in the final T20I at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium played a pivotal role in India's series triumph.

As Bishnoi gears up for the upcoming series against South Africa, cricket enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating more stellar performances from the young spinner, who has already proven himself to be a formidable force on the international stage.

Recently after the concluded series, Bishnoi acknowledged that he didn't bowl well earlier in the against Australia but kept focusing on his executions with a simple plan to bowl wicket to wicket.

“The first match, I didn't bowl. I just focused on my execution. My plan is simple - bowl stump-to-stump. (On South Africa series) Different wicket, a different challenge, will try to adapt as quickly as I can,” he said after the match.

Recently one of the greatest spinner of the game,  Muttiah Muralitharan also praised him and said that it's very difficult for the batters to play against Bishnnoi.

"Bishnoi is different from any other leg spinner than any other ones. He bowls quicker and he makes the ball slide a lot and Axar also is very accurate, not a big spinner of the ball, and Washi also is similar because he doesn't turn much and is very accurate and quite quicker," Muralitharan said on Jio Cinema
