Indian cricketer Rinku Singh got engaged to Member of Parliament Priya Saroj in a private ceremony held on June 8 at The Centrum Hotel in Lucknow. The event was attended by close family members, friends, and notable guests from the worlds of politics and cricket.
Before the ceremony, the left-handed batter with his family visited the Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, to seek blessings. The engagement was held at Fulcurn Hall, which has a capacity of 300 and welcomed a host of elite guests.
The occasion was graced by several former cricketers, including Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla, as well as Uttar Pradesh Ranji team captain Aryan Juyal. Among the political guests were Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, MPs Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Yadav, and Iqra Hasan. The senior Samajwadi Party leader Professor Ram Gopal Yadav and Congress leader Rajeev Shukla also marked their presence.

The engagement feast featured a specially curated vegetarian menu inspired by Lucknowi cuisine, blending regional and global flavours. The couple themselves selected the menu. The accommodation for guests was arranged at The Centrum, with 15 rooms booked exclusively for the event. The security was tight, with access restricted to invitees carrying barcoded entry passes.

Speaking about the career, Rinku had an average outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scoring 206 runs in the season at an average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73. The 2024 champions finished eighth on the points table this season with just five wins in 14 matches.
Internationally, the 27-year-old has played 30 T20 Internationals, scoring 507 runs in 22 innings at an average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 165.14, including three half-centuries. He made his T20I debut for India against Ireland in 2023. Rinku has also featured in two ODIs and has a notable List A record, scoring 1,899 runs from 52 innings at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 94.8.
