After incurring multiple injuries following a road accident, India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was in a very serious condition and was immediately admitted to a local hospital in Roorkee. The cricketer was later transferred to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where multiple tests were carried out to assess his condition. Even though his results came normal after the scans, the cricketer was admitted to the ICU ward before being shifted to a private suite on Monday.
Meanwhile, Rajat and Nishu, who helped the cricketer by calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital, visited the southpaw in Dehradun on Monday. While talking about what happened on the night, Rajat mentioned that they did not know who Pant was but tried their best to save his life. They also mentioned covering the cricketer with clothes before sending him to Saksham hospital.
“We saw him first and his condition was serious. We provided him help. A driver named Sushil and a bus conductor dialled 108 to call for help. We did not know who he was, but for the sake of humanity, we covered his body with clothes so as to save his life. We sent him to Saksham Hospital in an ambulance,” Rajat was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.

Soon after hitting the divider, Pant’s car caught fire. As per reports, it was said that Pant broke the windows of the car in an attempt to get out, and suffered injuries. The BCCI then revealed that the 25-year-old suffered ‘two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and injuries on his right wrist, ankle, toe and back’.
“All the other remaining items were burnt,” Rajat added.
In the meantime, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the state government will provide all kinds of support to help the cricketer recover faster.
