It turned out to be a repeat of the 2021 Road Safety World Series (RSWS), as the India Legends came out victorious against Sri Lanka Legends in the final match of the RSWS 2022. Talking about the match, India Legends won the toss and opted to have a bat first.

The home team was given an early jolt as skipper Sachin Tendulkar was sent packing for a first-ball duck. Sri Lanka Legends managed to get one more wicket of Suresh Raina early as the batting team looked in some sort of trouble. However, a good partnership between Naman Ojha and Vinay Kumar helped the home team to make a strong comeback with the bat.

Ojha was simply excellent with the bat as he completed an outstanding hundred which included 15 fours and two maximums. Senior batter Yuvraj Singh also smashed 19 runs in just 13 balls which had two fours and one maximum.

In reply, the Sri Lanka Legends batting line-up could not cope up with the pressure of chasing a big score as its top-order failed to get going. Batters Asela Gunaratne, Jeevan Mendis, Mahela Udawatte, and Upul Tharanga gave some decent contributions, but the stand-out performer for the chasing team was Ishan Jayaratne who scored an excellent fifty in just 22 balls.

In the end, the chasing side could only manage to score 162 runs before getting bowled out in 18.5 overs. Vinay Kumar scalped three wickets for his team, followed by Abhimanyu Mithun who took two wickets. Other bowlers also chipped in and got some vital breakthroughs for their side.
