New Zealand women are all set to kick off their upcoming multi-format series against England women. It is worth noting that both sides will face each other in five T20Is and three ODI matches. The first T20I of the series is all set to be held at the University Oval in Dunedin on Tuesday, March 19.

With the series rapidly approaching, New Zealand women came forward to announce their squad for the multi-format series. Star bowler Rosemary Mair and Brooke Halliday were recalled to the White Ferns’ squad for the series.

It is worth noting that Mair has been recalled to the national squad for the first time since the 2023 tour to Sri Lanka. Whereas, Halliday has returned to the side after recovering from a foot injury that saw her miss the limited-overs series against Pakistan.

Rosemary’s had a great domestic season: Ben Sawyer

Speaking of the squad announcement, New Zealand women’s head coach Ben Sawyer came forward to talk about how Mair has had a brilliant season on the domestic circuit and how the coaching staff has been impressed with the way she has improved on her game in her time away.

“Rosemary’s had a great domestic season, She’s been an integral part of the Central Hinds side this summer and has stepped up with her leadership and extra pace, which has been pleasing,” Sawyer was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

“We identified key areas of her game to work on post the tour of Sri Lanka and we’ve been impressed with the way Rosemary has gone away and worked hard on implementing these into her game,” he added.

New Zealand squad: Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout, Eden Carson (1st three T20Is), Izzy Gaze, Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Fran Jonas, Leigh Kasperek (T20Is 4 & 5), Melie Kerr, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Georgia Plimmer (ODIs only), Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu.
