After battling for hours, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have finally regained the access to their Twitter account as they gave the confirmation by putting out a tweet on the micro-blogging site.

A few hours after their account was hacked, the technical team regained access and confirmed taking back the account with a hilarious tweet.

“Kohli, Bengaluru, ABD, Chinnaswamy, IPL 2023, Play Bold, Vibe check complete. Yes! We can confirm that our Twitter handle is restored. Phew!” tweeted RCB sharing the confirmation.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) social media account was hacked on January 21. The official Twitter handle of the franchise ‘RCBTweets’ was renamed as ‘Bored Ape Yacht Club’ with NFT related tweets posted on it. The franchise is yet to take over control and remove the unwanted content from the handle.

Incidentally, the franchise posted a promotional video and a match day post related to the second ODI match between India and New Zealand, which is to be held on January 21 in Raipur. This is not the first time that RCB have gone through such an issues, as their YouTube and Twitter accounts were compromised last year before the technical team restored them.

“Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused," RCB tweeted in response.

RCB aim to end IPL title drought

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru-based franchise headed into the IPL 2023 mini-auction with their little kitty, however, the team managed to acquire a good bunch of players, including the likes of England's Will Jacks as they spent INR 3.2 crore. RCB also signed his compatriot Reece Topley for a sum of INR 1.9 crore.

Apart from the overseas signings, the franchise also added five uncapped Indian players to complete their squad, which includes the likes of Rajan Kumar, Avinash Singh, Himanshu Sharma, Sonu Yadav, and Manoj Bhandage. Last year, RCB featured in the playoffs following a decent season in the league phase, however, they could not proceed to the final, as they lost to Rajasthan Royals in the second Qualifier.

After retaining the big sharks such as skipper Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, and Glenn Maxwell, the side will aim to end their IPL title drought in the forthcoming season, which tentatively scheduled to start in the last week of March.
