Navjot Singh Sidhu launched a merciless rant against Michael Vaughan after India started their five-match Test tour of England on a stunning note on Friday, June 21, at Headingley, Leeds.

Former India opener Sidhu reminded Vaughan of his prediction blunders in the past, most recently during the World Test Championship (WTC) final, where he had backed Australia to outclass South Africa in the summit clash. However, Proteas' emphatic triumph forced Vaughan to eat his words.

Sidhu also pointed out how Vaughan, more often than not, has ruled India out in the past. The former also criticised the England fast bowlers, describing them as "pedestrians".

"Fools grow without watering. Michael Vaughan, your predictions. They're always wrong. Look at your bowling attack. They're pedestrians. I mean, three of the Indian batsmen are stepping out and hitting them like spinners. Boss, noise proves nothing. Even a hen, while laying an egg, cackles as if she's laying an asteroid. Stop making the noise, do something. There is no suffering that pity will not insult. Man, you're in a pitiable situation," Sidhu said in a video shared by Star Sports.

India pummeled the England bowlers on Day 1, as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill smashed belligerent centuries. Rishabh Pant also got himself to a half-century.

England turn things around on Day 2

India started Day 2 at 359/3, with captain Gill and his deputy Pant batting on 127 and 65, respectively. The flamboyant duo added 71 runs to India's total before Shubman holed out to deep square leg, trying to hit Shoaib Bashir for a maximum. Gill's knock ended after he scored 147 off 227 deliveries.

Shardul Thakur was also dismissed on the stroke of Lunch as India slumped from 430/3 to 454/7. England conceded 95 runs and took four wickets in the first session on Day 2.
