Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to make headlines in the cricketing arena. His most-recent performance for Bihar in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy clash against Maharashtra has added another remarkable chapter to his budding cricketing career as the 14-year-old batting sensation smashed 108 of Bihar's 176 runs in the contest.

With this, the left-handed batter became the youngest player to score a triple-digit score in the history of the 20-over tournament. He got to his century on the 58th delivery through a maximum off Arshin Kulkarni. Suryavanshi ended up unbeaten at the end of the innings, hitting seven fours and as many sixes in his sublime knock.

Prior to his explosive innings at the Eden Gardens, Suryavanshi had not got off to a desirable start in the tournament, as he registered scores of 14, 13 and 5 in Bihar's first three games against Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, respectively.

Speaking of the recent match, Maharashtra secured victory by three wickets and five deliveries to spare as Suryavanshi's efforts went in vain. Prithvi Shaw (66 off 30) secured the Player of the Match award for his power-packed knock. Sakib Hussain and skipper Sakibul Gani conceded 40 and 50 runs in 3.1 overs and 4 overs, respectively.

The defeat means Bihar remain winless even after four rounds of the ongoing tournament and sit at the rock bottom in the points table with a poor net run rate of -1.547. Their next three matches are against Goa (December 4), Hyderabad (December 6) and Uttar Pradesh (December 8).
