After suffering a defeat at the hands of India in their first match, team Pakistan completed a resounding victory by 155 runs against Hong Kong in their second group stage match of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on August 2 (Friday).
As the Men in Green have entered the super four, former Indian cricketer and expert Vijay Dahiya has given a warning to the other three teams who have reached the super four stage including Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and India.
Their bowlers were spot on against Hong Kong: Vijay Dahiya on Pakistan
Speaking on Bat Bricks7's Run ki Raneeti Vijay Dahiya, said, "The batters including Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan were playing against Hong Kong, but they were preparing for the upcoming matches. I guess the plan for the top-order batters was to spend some time in the middle and keep wickets in hand. Coming towards the end, Khushdil also batted beautifully.
"Their bowlers were also spot on as none of them gave runs in double-digit. I guess this might be some kind of record as well. Pakistan is a different team when they play with confidence and surely it is an alarm bell for the other teams playing in the super four," Dahiya added.
Talking about the match, senior batters Fakhar Zaman and Rizwan stroked excellent fifties with the bat before Khushdil finished strongly with the bat. In reply, Hong Kong batters surrendered meekly against the Men in the Green bowling line-up. The wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan was adjudged player of the match for his outstanding knock with the bat.
Team Pakistan will now take on the Men in Blue in their first super four matches to be played at the Dubai International Stadium on September 4 (Sunday). While team India will look to extend their dominance against Pakistan, the Men in Green, on the other hand, will want to settle the scores with the Men in Blue.
