Sydney Sixers sign Alice Capsey for 2026 WBBL

Sydney Sixers have confirmed the signing of England international Alice Capsey on a one-year deal for the 2026 Women's Big Bash League. The 22-year-old joins the club after departing Melbourne Renegades, making her the latest overseas addition to the Sixers' squad for the upcoming season.

Capsey has accumulated 1,053 runs in T20 Internationals, including six half-centuries, establishing herself as a consistent performer at the top level. She has also gained significant franchise experience with Birmingham Phoenix, Delhi Capitals and MI London across various competitions.

"Alice is one of the most exciting young players in world cricket and we're thrilled to welcome her to the Sydney Sixers. Despite still being only 22, she has already achieved a great deal in international cricket and established herself as a player capable of defining matches," Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said in an official statement.

Capsey has previously represented Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL, giving her prior experience of Australian conditions and the competition's demands. Her move to Sydney Sixers represents a change of franchise rather than a first foray into the WBBL. The club, under new head coach Peter Clarke, has assembled a squad that includes several high-profile names for the current season.

Sydney Sixers have named a squad that features a strong blend of local and overseas talent for the 2026 WBBL season. Capsey will join compatriot and national teammate Sophia Dunkley, who has re-signed with the Sixers.

The squad features three overseas slots filled by Capsey, Dunkley and New Zealand's Melie Kerr. The Sixers are building their group following the retirement of Alyssa Healy last summer, with Peter Clarke taking charge as the new WBBL head coach for the season ahead.
