England and Pakistan will lock horns in the highly anticipated summit clash on Sunday, November 13 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As per the weather predictions by ‘Accuweather’, considerable chances of rain are forecast in Melbourne on the day of the World Cup final.

Moreover, the Bureau of Meteorology too confirmed that there is a 95% chance of rain forecast for Sunday. This essentially translates to the high-octane clash getting interrupted due to rain gods making their presence felt.

However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is making all attempts to have a full-fledged match and has listed key pointers in case rain plays spoilsport. The apex cricket board has allotted a reserve day on November 14 in case the game is interrupted or not commenced on November 13. Furthermore, 10 overs per side needs to be completed across both days to have a full 20-over contest.

Adding to this, the ICC has allotted 30 minutes of extra time for November 13, whereas earlier the extra time for November 14 was stipulated for two hours but given the weather conditions in Melbourne, the time has been increased to four hours.

The electrifying contest is scheduled to be played at 7.00 pm local time (1.30 pm IST) on Sunday. However, in the case that the reserve day must follow, the match is scheduled to kick start at 3.00 pm local time (9.30 am IST) on Monday.

Completing a ‘shortened’ match will be the priority on Sunday and the reserve day will further be activated once the overs are reduced on the first day. Assuming the match has started on Sunday and cannot be completed, then it will resume on the reserve day from the point it was halted.

Once the toss gets underway, the match will be considered ‘live’. The last of all points is that assuming there is not enough time over the two days to achieve the minimum overs due to severe showers in the venue, the trophy will be shared by the two teams.
