England’s style of playing in Tests, commonly known as 'Bazball', has taken over the world by storm. Introduced by Test head coach Brendon McCullum, England have been playing aggressive cricket in the longest format of the game, and it has worked wonders for the Ben Stokes-led side.
With the world becoming a fan of the style of play, the Australian players do have a different opinion. When asked his opinion on Bazball, ace Australian spinner Nathan Lyon came forward to talk about Bazball’s inclusion in the dictionary and opined that he is 2-0 up against Bazball, so he is happy.
"Well, I’m 2-0 against Bazball, so I’m pretty happy about it. To me, it’s a load of s***, if you ask me. It’s a brand of cricket that the English want to keep going; now it’s in the dictionary, which is pretty remarkable,” Nathan Lyon said in an interview on an Australian TV show, The Front Bar.
According to the Collins Dictionary, "a style of Test cricket in which the batting side attempts to gain the initiative by playing in a highly aggressive manner” is what defines ‘Bazball’.
