Devendra Singh Bora secured the prized wicket of ace Indian batter Rohit Sharma during the second round matches of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy between Mumbai and Uttarakhand. After starring with a blistering 94-ball 155-run knock against Sikkim a couple of days back, the former Indian captain fell for a golden duck at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on December 26.

The dismissal occurred on the final ball of the first over of the match. The 25-year-old right-arm medium pacer landed the ball in a spot which compelled Rohit to hand a catch to Bora's new-ball partner Jagmohan Nagarkoti, who later in the match dismissed Rohit's opening partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi for a 20-ball 11.

This was just Bora's third List A match, having made his debut in Uttarakhand's first round clash against Himachal Pradesh, which they lost by 95 runs. He had impressed with the ball with a four-wicket haul (4/44 in 8.3 overs). His average and strike rate in List A cricket so far is 19.50 and 20.2, respectively.

Bora has a fait bit of experience in the First-Class arena, having played 15 red-ball matches, picking up a 30 wickets in 26 innings with a best of 6/79. He has picked up one five-wicket haul in a fledgling career up until now.

Earlier in the year, Bora impressed in the Uttarakhand Premier League, as he produced a massive impact for Dehradun Warriors, securing nine wickets in seven matches at an economy of 7.91.
