Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals on Sunday, March 17, to win their maiden title in history. Right after Richa Ghosh hit the winning runs, the players ran towards the field to celebrate, while soon after that, Virat Kohli congratulated the team via video call as the star India batter was also spotted dancing with the team. Notably, the ace batter also had a word with skipper Smriti Mandhana but because of the fans being loud at Arun Jaitley Stadium, the 27-year-old couldn’t hear him but revealed that he was elated following the win.

Notably, in the last WPL season, RCB had a very tough time in the middle. Kohli then visited the camp to lift the morale, but nevertheless, the team failed to qualify for the play-offs. In 2024, the chances were slim at one stage, but the players didn’t give up and won three consecutive matches to lift the trophy.

Meanwhile, after the match, Mandhana revealed that Kohli’s pep talk in 2023 helped her personally and added that she is eager to meet the cricketer in Bengaluru when the team has its success party during the ‘RCB Unbox event, which is slated to take place on March 19 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“I didn't hear anything he was saying because it was too loud, he was like just thumbs up and I just did thumbs up, I will be meeting him. He looked happy there was a bright smile. I remember him coming last year and a little pep talk which really helped me personally as well as the whole team. He has been a part of this franchise and I think he has been there for the past 15 years so I could see that happiness on his face but because of the noise I couldn't hear him, maybe I will chat to him when we go to Bengaluru,” Mandhana was quoted as saying by India Today.

Virat joined the RCB camp in the early hours of March 18. He is likely to hit the nets on the same day and then be a part of the Unbox event on Tuesday, before flying to Chennai for their opening game against the defending champions on March 22.
