Virat Kohli quashes 'chartered London flight' rumours ahead of IPL 2026
Kohli shared the post on his Instagram stories with two crying with laughing emojis to declare them as fake news.
Virat Kohli took to Instagram stories to debunk rumours about him flying back to London between games during the upcoming 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Some reports suggested that Kohli had requested chartered flight from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to fly from India to London between games with gap of more than three days during the tournament. Kohli shared the post on his Instagram stories with two crying with laughing emojis, declaring the claim as fake news.
Meanwhile, the former India captain is fully focused on the upcoming season and is keen to help RCB retain their title. Earlier this month, the 37-year-old shared video of him back in nets ahead of the start of a brand-new IPL season. The reel showed him playing some outstanding shots with a brand new MRF-sponsored bat. Kohli has already joined the RCB camp as they look to make a winning start to their title-defence.
RCB will play the opening game of the new IPL season, against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, March 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Kohli comes into the IPL on the back of some excellent form for India in One Day Internationals (ODIs). The right-hand batter scored a century in his most recent international outing - 124 against New Zealand in Indore.
The former RCB captain was also his side’s leading run-scorer during their title-winning 2025 IPL campaign, scoring 657 runs at an average of 54.75. A lot of hopes and expectations would be on his shoulders as the Bengaluru-based side aim to become the first side since Mumbai Indians in 2020 to retain the IPL crown.
