[WATCH] Hundred Men's 2025: Sam Curran's 75.64 kph moon ball deceives Richard Gleeson all ends up
10 out of Curran's 19 deliveries were dots in the series-opening clash of the competition.
Sam Curran completely bamboozled Richard Gleeson via a 75.64 kph (47 mph) moon ball during Match 1 of The Hundred Men's 2025 between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles. Gleeson (3 off 6) was the final wicket to fall for the hosts at Lord's.
Bowling from left-arm-over, Gleeson failed to make any sort of connection on Curran's loopy delivery, which ultimately took an age to pass the wild hoic of the willow before hitting the base of the off stump. This was Curran's third wicket of the day, as he ended up with 3/18 in 19 deliveries.

Interestingly, Gleeson wasn't the first player from the Spirit to be done in by the lack of pace. Earlier in the match, Ashton Turner (21 off 14) perished while trying to slog a similar dipping slower ball for a maximum. All he could do was find Rashid Khan at the deep mid-wicket fence.
The Invincibles notched up a comfortable six-wicket triumph with 31 balls to spare after the hosts could only manage to post 80 in 94 balls. Rashid was adjudged with the Player of the Match accolade for his bowling performance (3/11 in 20 balls) and contribution while being on the field with his three catches.

Will Jacks, who was the seventh bowler to be introduced into the attack in the first innings, top-scored for the Invincibles with a run-a-ball 24-run knock. Skipper Sam Billings (6* off 3) and Donovan Ferreira (9* off 5) saw their side through to victory. They will take on Manchester Originals next at The Oval on Saturday, August 9.
