Former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Ben Cutting, remembered for his iconic match-winning knock in the IPL 2016 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a moment that still haunts the franchise, continues to impress on the global stage. The Australian all-rounder is now making headlines in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, delivering another explosive performance for Aspin Stallions.

Cutting played a crucial role in his team’s latest victory, smashing 39 runs off just 18 balls. Among his strokes, one particular six sent fans into a frenzy, a stunning helicopter shot launched over long-on, instantly drawing comparisons with the trademark stroke popularised by Indian legend MS Dhoni.

The unique follow-through and sheer power reminded viewers of Dhoni’s iconic finishing style, prompting a wave of reactions and parallel memes across social media. Modern players, including Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, often replicate the shot, but Cutting’s version stood out for its clean execution.

In the match, Aspin Stallions defeated UAE Bulls by six wickets. UAE Bulls posted 119/4 in their 10 overs, powered by Phil Salt’s blistering 44 off 17, featuring four boundaries and three sixes. Tom Moores contributed 24, while Tim David added a quickfire 35 off 15. Salt and Moores forged a 58-run stand in just 30 balls to give their side a strong start. For the Stallions, Karim Janat impressed with figures of 2/15.

Chasing 120, Aspin Stallions reached the target in 9.3 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (29) and Andre Fletcher (30) laid the foundation with a brisk 46-run partnership off 20 balls. But the finishing touch belonged to Cutting, whose power-packed cameo, featuring three fours and four sixes, sealed the win in style.

With this victory, Aspin Stallions have now qualified for the playoffs, sitting third on the points table with four wins from seven matches. UAE Bulls, meanwhile, remain in seventh place with just two wins from six outings. Quetta Qavalry and Ajman Titans have also secured their spots in the next round.
