The stump mic at the Adelaide Oval captured a rather intense conversation between Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer during the ongoing second Australia vs India ODI. Rohit and Iyer were involved in a beautiful 118-run stand for the third wicket during the second ODI of the three-match series between Australia and India.

Rohit's comments came after he had inside-edged a delivery onto the pads which deflected towards the point and cover region. Rohit, after seeming Iyer's reluctance to run, told him that the former thought that a run was very well on the cards.

Iyer, from the non-striker's end, argued that it was Rohit's call to which the former Indian skipper replied that a run could have been stolen because the bowler was already into his seventh over. Iyer responded by saying that it was Rohit's call to make because the ball was hit in front of him to which Rohit denied.

Aakash Chopra and Irfan Pathan commented on the incident after the over. While Chopra did not have any significant opinion to offer, Irfan felt that the run could have been completed considering where the ball had ricocheted to.

Speaking of how the first innings panned out, India got to 264/9 in 50 overs. Rohit scored 73 off 97 and Iyer was the second highest run-getter with 61 to his name in 77 balls. Virat Kohli fell for his second successive duck.
