India’s Asia Cup Super Fours clash against Pakistan in Dubai saw skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s smart work and accurate throw lead to the dismissal of Mohammad Nawaz. The dismissal came in the 19th over. Salman Agha tried to work Jasprit Bumrah’s full toss off his pads towards backward square leg and went for a quick run. Nawaz completed a single but then wandered outside his crease at the striker’s end.

From mid-off, Suryakumar, instead of sending the throw to the bowler’s end, aimed directly at the striker’s stumps. The ball bounced before hitting the wicket, and Nawaz, still strolling with his bat in the air, was caught short of the crease. The delayed referral confirmed his dismissal, leading to the southpaw being run out for 21 off 19 balls. His runout triggered an angry reaction from coach Mike Hesson.

Earlier, Suryakumar won the toss and opted to bowl first, keeping the dew factor in mind. Both teams respectively made a few changes in their line-up for this blockbuster clash. Pakistan started well, with Fakhar Zaman attacking in the powerplay and Sahibzada Farhan anchoring the innings. Despite losing wickets in intervals, Pakistan managed to keep the scoreboard ticking, with Farhan’s fifty giving them a huge boost.

The Men in Green's innings had been orchestrated by Farhan’s 58 off 45 balls. He partnered with Saim Ayub for a decent stand before Dube struck twice. Hussain Talat and Nawaz failed to capitalize, while Salman Agha (17* off 13) tried to steady things.

The late push came from Faheem Ashraf, who hammered 20 off just 8 balls, including two sixes. Despite India dropping a couple of chances in the deep, Pakistan finished on 171/5 in their 20 overs. For India, Dube bagged two wickets, with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav finishing one wicket apiece.
