The Indian team is currently preparing hard for the upcoming fifth Test of the ongoing series against England. This series-deciding encounter will commence on July 31 at The Oval in London, and the Indian side is currently battling a few injuries within its set-up. During the practice session a day before the game, out-of-favour pacer Deepak Chahar was seen with the Indian squad at the ground, training alongside them.

A video uploaded by journalist Sahil Malhotra claims that Chahar was present at the venue, he was not seen donning the Indian team's official training outfit. Though Chahar has played for the Indian team in the white-balls formats, he is yet to make his Test debut with the Baggy Blues.

While Chahar is not present with the Indian team in any official capacity, his presence hints at a possible addition to the squad, however, no such communication has been made yet by the BCCI. Notably, star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out with a toe fracture, while Jasprit Bumrah is most likely going to miss the final game of the series. As a result, the selectors have added pro batter Narayan Jagadeesan to their squad.

Speaking of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, the series has been a rollercoaster ride for the fans of either teams so far. Hosts England started the assignment with a bang, winning the first game by five wickets. However, the Indians bounced back strongly to claim a monumental victory in the second Test at Edgbaston. The third Test once again went in England's favour, whereas, the fourth Test at Manchester was a drawn encounter.

The series is currently poised at 2-1 in England's favour, and even a draw at The Kennington Oval will help them clinch the series. On the other hand, the Shubman Gill-led side must win the upcoming clash against the Ollie Pope-led side, if they want to save themselves from the embarrassment of a series defeat. The hosts have already named their Playing XI for the upcoming clash, with Ben Stokes missing the clash due to a shoulder injury.

There are three more changes to the English squad apart from Stokes, as the pace duo of Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse has been sidelined, whereas Liam Dawson also made his way out. The four players who changed the ones departing are Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue, and Gus Atkinson.
