[WATCH]: Faf du Plessis defies gravity to take one-handed stunner in MLC 2025, video goes viral
Faf du Plessis' catch helped the Texas Super Kings beat MI New York in MLC 2025.
Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis grabbed a stunning flying one-handed catch in the match between Texas Super Kings and MI New York in MLC 2025 (Major League Cricket). The 40-year-old displayed remarkable agility for his age, making a huge impact on the eventual result of the match with his incredible catch in the mid-off region.
Michael Bracewell, who was batting well, aimed to go over the top of the TSK star. The southpaw, who was on 38 (20), tried to play a lofted shot over the mid-off region. However, du Plessis flew to his right and grabbed the ball in time with just one hand to complete an exceptional catch.
The wicket was highly important for the Kings in the context of the match, as Bracewell was threatening to take the game away from their control. Faf du Plessis changed the course of the match with his catch, as his team went on to win. The momentum shifted from that point, as the batters following Bracewell failed to get the job done for MI New York.

Batting first, the Super Kings posted a strong total of 185 runs on the board. It was around par on a surface that offered something for both batters and bowlers. Chasing the target, MI New York were reduced to 24/3 in no time.
However, they mounted a major comeback, thanks to a 95-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Bracewell and Monank Patel. They took MI New York to 119/3 at the end of the 13th over, which meant their side needed 66 runs in the final 7 overs.
The match was still in the balance, or slightly in New York's favour due to the momentum. That was when Adam Milne bowled the 14th over and delivered a short ball. Du Plessis' catch ultimately ensured the Super Kings won the match.
