Ryan Rickelton lofted a slot delivery bowled by Kyle Jamieson for a one-bounce boundary towards the long-on region during Match 69 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. This was the second time Rickelton had stroked the Kiwi pacer to the boundary in the latter's first over of the game.

The top-order batter got under the length delivery to lift it over mid-on. The ball almost made its way beyond the ropes on the full despite not being struck off the middle of the bat. The next delivery was a back-of-a-length delivery, which was punched to cover point for no run. At the end of two overs, MI were 17/0 after being invited to bat first.

Rickelton's knock came to an end on the first ball of the last over of the powerplay. Rickelton intended to pull a short delivery off Marco Jansen. However, he ended up spooning the ball straight up for Shreyas Iyer to gobble a straightforward catch at mid-on. The southpaw departed after scoring 27 off 20. His innings comprised a total of five fours.

Earlier in the evening, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. Notably, the winner of this contest will make their way to secure a spot in the top two of the points table. Speaking of PBKS, this is only the second time in IPL history that they have made it to the playoffs after the 2014 edition of the IPL. They would be aiming to go all the way and end their trophy drought. MI will have their eyes on claiming their sixth title.
