[WATCH] IPL 2026: Yuzvendra Chahal caught smoking, throwing cigarette from luxury car in viral video

Yuzvendra Chahal has stirred a fresh controversy after being seen smoking a cigarette while driving a luxury sports car and throwing the cigarette butt on the road.

The video has garnered much attention on social media, with fans calling out the cricketer for smoking in public and littering. Interestingly, ahead of the start of the season, Chahal stated that it he had given up consuming alcohol and it had been over six months. 

 “I've stopped drinking alcohol, and it's been more than six months. I am now 35, so I want to be more active and give my 150% for my team. As a senior player, I want people in the IPL to learn something from me," Chahal had said while speaking on AB de Villiers' YouTube channel before IPL 2026.

Meanwhile, on the playing field, Chahal has seen a resurgence with the Punjab Kings in IPL 2026. Despite picking up just three wickets in the two innings he has bowled in, the spinner has displayed control and guile, going at an economy of just seven runs. Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the IPL, with 224 scalps, and is the only bowler to have crossed the 200-wicket mark in the tournament.

The Punjab Kings are one of the two unbeaten teams in IPL 2026 alongside Rajasthan Royals. Pubjab Kings beat the Gujarat Titans in their opening game before chasing down 210 against the Chennai Super Kings. Their third game against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens was washed out, with just 3.4 overs played in the match.
