Former Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's viral training video has taken social media by storm, with fans stunned by his noticeably leaner look ahead of the upcoming India-New Zealand ODI series. As India gears up for the three-match contest starting January 11 in Vadodara, Rohit’s transformation has once again grabbed the attention of everyone.

The veteran batter will be in action again when India takes on New Zealand in the three-ODI series beginning Sunday. Rohit arrived in Vadodara ahead of the first ODI and is expected to play a crucial role alongside Virat Kohli. Having retired from Test cricket in May last year, Rohit is fully focused on white-ball cricket, particularly ODIs.

The viral clip shows Rohit batting in the nets, looking sharper and fitter than ever. Several fans commented that he appeared “barely recognisable,” with some even claiming he looked “thinner than Kohli.” Furthermore, Rohit was seen wearing a new helmet during the session.

Check out fans' reaction to Rohit's training video:

One moment from the video showed Rohit stepping into a delivery and smashing a straight six down the ground. Fans also flocked to the MCA Ground in Mumbai to catch a glimpse of Rohit Sharma training. During the same training session, a funny incident saw a fan offer Rohit a vada pav. Rohit smiled and declined the offer.

Last year was memorable for the Nagpur-born as he led India to the ICC Champions Trophy, scoring a match-winning 76 in the final. He became the top-ranked ODI batter in ICC rankings for the first time, the third-highest ODI run-scorer for India, and the fourth Indian to complete 20,000 international runs. He also surpassed Shahid Afridi’s long-standing record for most sixes in ODIs and ended the year with 650 runs in 14 innings at an average of 50.
